DESCRIPTION:Lutheran World Relief School Kits\nWe are again taking part in 
 an outreach project through Lutheran World Relief that provides school sup
 plies to children who do not have any basic supplies for learning. With so
  many children displaced or immigrants here in the U.S. and all over the w
 orld\, the need for these school kits is greater than ever. We have the ba
 gs\, but we need the school supplies to fill the bags. Starting in July\, 
 a collection box will be in the narthex and another box will be in the off
 ice hallway. \nWe need the following items to fill each bag:\n-Four 70-sh
 eet notebooks of wide or college-ruled paper approx. 8” X 10 ½”. No l
 oose-leaf paper.\n-One 30-centimeter ruler with centimeters on one side an
 d inches on the other\n-Five unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers. Secure t
 ogether with a rubber band.\n-One pencil sharpener\n-One blunt scissors. S
 afety scissors with embedded steel blades work well.\n-Five black or blue 
 ballpoint pens. Please no gel ink pens. Secure together with a rubber band
 .\n-One box of 16 or 24 crayons\n-One eraser approximately 2 ½” long\nO
 ur greatest need will be notebooks. All items should be new and in good co
 ndition. No patriotic symbols. \nWatch for Back to School sales on the it
 ems needed to fill the bags. Choose whatever items you would like to provi
 de\, as many or as few as you like. You do not need to try to purchase all
  the items needed for one bag.\nCash donations marked LWR School Kits woul
 d be greatly appreciated. We will purchase any items not donated that are 
 needed to complete the bags. If you would like to help cover the cost of m
 ailing the kits overseas\, mark your cash donation for Mailing LWR School 
 Kits. Donations can be either left in the offering basket\, dropped off in
  the church office\, or given to Laverne Gresch.\nWe will be packing the s
 chool kits in September. How many school kits can we fill this year? The n
 eed is great!\nThank you for supporting this project to help children all 
 over the world who need materials for learning. \n
