MISSION APPEAL 2025
This year our mission appeal is focusing on Growing in Faith through the spiritual disciplines.
Spiritual discipline refers to the practices and habits that Christians engage in to conform their lives to Christ and deepen their relationship with God. These disciplines are rooted in Scripture and are essential for spiritual growth, maturity, and the development of Christ-like character. They are not ends in themselves but are means to draw closer to God and to be transformed by the Holy Spirit.
April 27
Silence and Solitude
Pastor John will introduce the mission appeal and lead a discussion on the spiritual disciplines at the adult forum. Question: How does silence shape your relationship with God?
Weekly spiritual discipline suggestion:
Read Psalm 96 and then walk in silence through a neighborhood or park that has a multitude of trees. (If you can not go outside, look out your window at a tree.) Think about the trees singing for joy.

Hospitality
Pam Wendtland will discuss her work with Mission Barista Global during Sunday worship and the adult forum. Question: How does Pam’s work involve hospitality?
Weekly spiritual discipline suggestion: Read Romans 12: 9-13. During the week open the door for a person, smile at a stranger, pick up trash in your community, or introduce yourself to someone new in your neighborhood.

Generosity
Question: Why do you give an offering?
Weekly spiritual discipline suggestion: Read 2 Corinthians 9: 6-11. Think about a person who has shown you generosity in your life. If you can, share that generosity with someone who might need some special care. Either stop by for a visit, take the person out for coffee, help them with cleaning, make a meal or run a needed errand for them.
