Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg was originally envisioned as the church in a garden. Blessed with several acres of land, we have turned some of it into Faith Community Pathways, a prairie with native plants and areas for gathering, play, and meditation, as well as raised community garden beds built and managed entirely by volunteers. Last year, this garden donated 300 pounds of produce to Family Sharing.
On Saturday, June 25, we will be hosting Jeff Wild, a retired pastor from Madison who turns guns into garden tools with his forge. Visit the prairie to watch his blacksmithing technique as he converts donated pieces into hand trowels, cultivators, and weeders. There will also be opportunities to learn about composting from Faith Lutheran Church’s Pastor John, and for children to paint rocks, plant seeds, and explore the prairie’s natural playground space. The event is free and open to the public, with snacks and water available for purchase. We’ll see you at the forge!
